Worship, Music, and Arts Ministry

This ministry oversees all aspects of the church service such as the music (all choirs, vocal and bell), altar care, ushers, greeters, and service content. We also oversee the ordering of Poinsettias at Christmas, Lilies, Daffodils, and Tulips at Easter, and Geraniums for Pentecost.

We have several dedicated members on the ministry, they are:

Joyce Van Nieuwkuyk - Joyce is our Minister of Music, her duties include, director of all choirs, Advent - age 4yr. to 5th grade, Chancel Choir - Adult choir, and the bell choir, open to all ages. She also plays the organ and piano for our services. She is also a music teacher at St. Stephen's Episcopal School in Harrisburg. Her love of music and her dedication are a blessing to our congregation.

Betty Briner - Betty is our organist emeritus who has had to come out of retirement to assist Joyce with the playing of the organ and piano. Betty is a long time member of the ministry. She is also an excellent knitter and sewer of baby blankets and quilts. We are grateful for her expertise on our ministry.

Pearl Engleman - Pearl is a long time member of the ministry and a long time member of our adult choir. Pearl brings enthusiasm and her love of music to our ministry.

Barb Dudek - Barb is the Altar Guild representative serving on our ministry. She and the altar guild are in charge of taking care of the altar coverings, communion elements as well as the candles used in our services. We are glad to have her on our ministry.

Alice Graham - Alice is a member of the adult choir and the bell choir. She has a great sense of humor and brings a great deal of enthusiasm to the ministry.

Susan Smith - Susan is one of the quieter members of our ministry. She is a member of the adult choir and the bell choir. We are grateful for her service on the ministry.

Julie Eyer - Julie is the youngest but not the least of the members on the ministry. She is a member of the adult choir and has performed many solos at St. Mark's. Julie brings her love of music and her enthusiasm for life to the ministry. She is a welcome addition to our ministry.

Molly Stanton - Molly is a relatively new comer to the ministry. She is currently serving as chairperson of the ministry. She sings with the Joyfunoisemaker Ensemble throughout the church year.

Tom Stohler - Tom is the council representative for the ministry. We are grateful for his input on all issues that come the ministry's way and are glad to have him serving with us.

Pastor Person - Pastor Person helps us to plan the weekly services. His expertise and enthusiasm are a welcome addition to our ministry and our church.

Our ministry meets the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30PM. We are always looking for new members to help us out.
